TAPA

Hawk Freight Logistics are one of only a few freight forwarders WORLDWIDE to receive a Class A accreditation from The Transported Asset Protection Association Europe (TAPA-EMEA).

Hawk are proud to be awarded this achievement following a rigorous procedure where our security systems have been tested against the very toughest criteria laid down by an organisation protective of its reputation, professionalism and drive in the pursuit of a secure global supply chain.

Once Hawk in the UK have successfully and securely brought your cargo into the country, final delivery to your door is handed to SAS to ensure it is door to door secure.

What does accreditation mean?

Membership of TAPA in itself does not necessarily mean that this member has accredited facilities. Accredited facilities are those that employ security procedures and systems that have been audited by TAPA and found to be of an acceptable standard for TAPA accreditation.

Accredited facilities fall into 3 categories;

Class A - those facilities that have and have proven to apply the very highest levels of security
Class B and C have lesser standards of security.

With only about 170 class A facilities worldwide with just 35 in the UK you can see accreditation is not given lightly and continual monitoring ensures approved standards are maintained.

Security and service

With our experience moving vulnerable goods over many years, Hawk know the issues involved and have been active in bringing innovative security solutions that have been applied as industry standards over the years.

We understand the practical issues needed to keep your cargo secure and your customers happy. Security and Service are our focus and we are extremely proud of our achievements in both areas.

TAPA accreditation is recognition of our on-going security measures that we have been applying through the continuing eye of our Loss Prevention Manager, Colin Stewart.

About TAPA

For those of you who may not be familiar with TAPA, here is a brief outline of the organisation. (www.tapaemea.com)

Along with the creation of a borderless Single Market in 1993 came an associated increase in cross border crime. TAPA, already active in the United States, began an operation in Europe aimed at combating this advance in crime and orchestrated a practical solution involving all relevant crime prevention organisations and two key industry initiatives;
  • Freight Security Standards (FSR)
This is a set of agreed standards acting as a guide to shippers of hi-tech freight on the standards of freight security required by the manufacturers and importers
  • Incident Information Services
This involved the setting up of a common pool of information related to criminal activities against TAPA EMEA freight in transit. Information that is stored centrally and constantly updated by new incident reports is made available to all TAPA EMEA members and relevant Law Enforcement Agencies.
